SoloAd that didn't do too well

I recently did 2 SoloAds with one of our local email marketing company which did not perform as good as my expectation.

The Opt-in rate was really bad as after these 2 SoloAds, I only got 5 Opt-ins out of almost 2000 people who had seen the Ad. That work out to be about 0.25% and ZERO conversion.

I was disappointed.... how is it that other teammates had so much better conversion rate compare to mine? Obviously, SoloAds does works but why doesn't it works for me?

I realized I've make the following mistakes:

1. Ask the company whether there are similar Ads being placed recently!
Yes... I did not check with the company whether there were any similar Ads that had been shown recently. When I checked with them after the Ad, they told me that had been quite a number such Ads was placed through them recently. THAT'S IT!! Next time around ask the critical question before placing the SoloAd. :)

2. Overused squeeze/sales page!
Yes... you can ask the Customer Service Advisor about the squeeze page that you're going to be showing whether it had been used recently, too. IF same page is used too many times over a short period it sort of dilute the response.
